Teeth cleaning and gum care in Tunis

Tartar is a hard layer that forms on teeth despite brushing. It irritates the gums, makes them bleed and can cause bad breath. Untreated, gingivitis can progress to periodontitis, which loosens teeth.

A professional scale and polish restores teeth and gums to a healthy state. We also show you the right brushing technique and how to use interdental brushes.

When should you come?

  • Gums that bleed when brushing
  • Persistent bad breath
  • Yellow or brown deposits on the teeth
  • Red, swollen or receding gums
  • Teeth that move or gaps that appear

What the session includes

  • Gum examination and measurement of gum pockets if needed
  • Ultrasonic scaling followed by polishing
  • Personalised hygiene advice
  • If needed, deeper gum treatment (root planing)

How often?

A scale and polish every 6 months suits most patients. We can bring it closer if your gums are fragile, if you smoke or if you have diabetes.

This information is general and does not replace a consultation: every situation is different.

Your questions about: scaling and gum care

Does scaling damage the enamel?

No. Done properly, it does not harm the teeth. Temporary sensitivity is possible.

Why do my gums bleed?

Most often because of plaque and tartar. A scale and polish and good brushing usually stop the bleeding within a few days.

Is it painful?

It is generally painless. If your gums are sensitive, we adapt the session.
