Dental implants in Tunis

A dental implant is a small titanium root placed in the jawbone that then receives a crown. It is the solution closest to a natural tooth: it does not require filing down neighbouring teeth and it protects the bone, which tends to shrink after an extraction.

At Dr Rayan Arfaoui's clinic in L'Aouina, every implant is prepared using 3D digital impressions. This lets us choose the right position and size, and explain the treatment plan to you before we start.

When is an implant recommended?

  • A missing, extracted or long-lost tooth
  • Several missing teeth to replace without a removable denture
  • A removable denture that moves or is uncomfortable and needs to be stabilised
  • A wish for a durable, natural-looking solution

How does the treatment go?

  • Consultation, clinical examination and X-rays or a scan
  • 3D digital impressions and a treatment plan with a quote
  • Implant placement under local anaesthesia, generally well tolerated
  • A healing period while the bone bonds with the implant
  • Fitting of the final crown, then regular check-ups

Good to know

The length of treatment depends on your situation: bone quality, number of implants and whether a bone graft is needed. Smoking and poor hygiene raise the risk of failure, so we talk about them together to give you the best chance of success.

This information is general and does not replace a consultation: every situation is different.

Your questions about: dental implants

Does an implant hurt?

Placement is done under local anaesthesia, so you do not feel the procedure. Moderate discomfort is possible in the following days and is relieved with the prescribed medication.

How long does an implant last?

With good hygiene and regular check-ups, an implant can last for many years. Follow-up is as important as for a natural tooth.

Do I have enough bone for an implant?

The examination and 3D imaging tell us. If there is not enough bone, a bone graft can be offered.
